Shoulder dislocations are very common injuries for sport players, like mountain bikers and rugby players. If the patient fell onto the point of the shoulder they could tear the ligaments between the collar bone and the shoulder blade / fracture of the end of the collar bone (clavicle).
Treatment without treating the collar bone or clavicle will remain dislocated. In the last three years, keyhole techniques allows the substitution of this ligament. The results are obtained when the injury is treated within 6 weeks.
The gross deformity can be corrected with a keyhole surgery technique. Once inserted, the implants do not require subsequent removal, unlike plates or wires.
We have technique to repair the ligaments or fracture end of collar bone by key hole surgery, the optimal result of repair are seen within 6 weeks of injury.
Following keyhole surgery, scarring is kept to a minimum.
