Our centre provides different alternatives to help patient with elbow fractures, like radial head, locking plate system, etc… Complex elbow fractures are challenging. We employ the techniques available to reconstruct both acute as well as chronic injuries.
A repaired elbow
An MRI scan of the elbow
This often occurs after elbow injuries, particularly fractures. If the broken bones did not line up properly, or if there was extensive stripping of muscles and ligaments, the elbow joint can fail to rotate or bend at the ‘hinge’.
We have received patients for treatment of their stiff injured elbows. Surgical corrections often necessitate painstaking removal of bone debris and release of the contracted lining of the joint. Although by no means return to full range of motion, our patients are satisfied with the outcome of their surgical treatment.
Stiffness after an elbow injury can result from scarring or new bone formation. We provide a tertiary service in receiving complex elbow injuries from surrounding hospitals.

After surgery – the bone has been removed at the hinge of the elbow.
