A frozen shoulder causes when the enzyme in the shoulder fails temporary to remove the old lining of the joint. New layers then get laid down on top of the old, turning the cling film like lining into a tough onion skin which in turn limits shoulder motion. The condition runs about 18 months and is self-limiting.
The frozen shoulder treatment, in our opinion, is to release this thickened lining through keyhole frozen shoulder surgery. This offers pain relief and restores shoulder motion within 3 months. The left picture shows the red inflamed lining. The right picture shows after the capsule been released.
