The Triagular Fibrocartilage Complex (TFCC) is a soft cartilage that sits on the little finger side of the wrist. It acts as a cushion between the wrist bone and the forearm bone (ulna). Often injury is done due to a fall on to that side of the wrist, with a twisting motion. The injury is not detectable on an x-ray and only shows 50% on MRI.

However, with the aid of a microscope, you can see the tear. The torn cartilage can be treated with a short operation using keyhole surgery and the patient can usually return to work and drive the following day.
