Shoulder Arthroscopic Surgery

Shoulder Arthroscopic surgery - Superior Labral Anterior to Posterior Tear (SLAP)

This is caused by the biceps tendon comes away from the top of the shoulder socket. First described in 1986 by Andrews in Baseball Pitchers, SLAP is seen more often in the gym with 45-55 year age group pulling weights wrongly. They are also found in keen tennis players. Treatment is given by reattaching the tendon to the (Glenoid) shoulder socket again.
